31 Days of Fall Fun {Day 13}: My Halloween Decorations

Happy Thursday, everybody.

Today I have a partial tour of the Halloween decorations at my house.

Why "partial"?

Well, friends, it's because I've been crazy busy/stressed/exhausted from work this week, so my house is a wreck. And I didn't have time to clean just for pictures..

I have never really given you all a full house tour on my blog before. Someday I'll have to do that, just not today. You should just fill in the gaps with your imagination.

(I do on a daily basis.)

The ledges near the entryway:

I'm lovin' the spanish moss this year as you will see. Draped around sparingly, it's pretty creepy-- especially at night.

The chandelier over the kitchen island:

The birds are freaking out Kitty. It's pretty funny. He'll forget about them for a while, then he'll look up and see one and try to stare it down. Hilarious, dumb, lovable cat.

Transom window over the office doors:

"Be afraid of things that go bump in the night."

My canvas chalkboard Halloween-ified:

And then . . . you look up:

Not going to lie, a few of those fake spiders creep me out. I know they are fake and I'm usually not too much of a wuss when it comes to bugs-- except crickets. Hate those things! But there's something about a few of these spiders that look a little too real.

Last year, we didn't do anything to decorate the beams. Josh thought this year we needed to take advantage of their decorating potential . . .

Ok, honey.

He did all the climbing up on the ladder, so I'm not complaining!

That concludes this brief tour.

Hope you enjoyed your visit!

  2. I like it. Except for the spiders. I'm not going to lie... I may freak out next time I come over.

  3. I love what you've done here. And I especially love those beams. They're such an awesome feature.

I have two cats and they're pretty silly too. I might have to go out and get a bird just to freak them out. I'm kind of mean that way...

  4. They're not too creepy because they are a little glittery. You can't be too freaked out by something that sparkles. :)

  5. Thanks, Heather. I love the beams too. I do believe they are my favorite feature of the house.

You should get a bird for your cats. It'll amuse them for hours!
