31 Days of Fall Fun {Day 27}: How to "Zombify" Your Family Photos

Ok, I admit, this idea is totally silly, but so fun that I'm having a difficult time stopping myself.

Many of you have probably heard of the free online picture editing software, Picnik. It's perfect for the broke people like me who can't afford Photoshop yet. Besides offering the basic photo edits, they also include quite a few seasonal, fun features.

Wonder what you would look like as a vampire? Zombie? Ghoul?

Of course you have. Who hasn't?

If you have a family gallery wall in your home, this would be so fun to do as a part of your Halloween decor. I plan to print these pictures using my printer at home on regular printer paper and stick them in my frames. The pictures are only going to be up about a week, so I don't think there's any need to send them off to a printer.

There are quite a few "spooky" effects on Picnik: vampire eyes, draculan dermis, fangs, blood stains, ghoul eyes, zombify, spiderwebs, face paint, masks, eyeballs . . . .

In my opinion, the pictures turned out the best in black and white.

Here's an old engagement picture of Josh and I.

Gold vampire eyes, fangs, and "softened"

Another engagment picture of Josh and myself. (He was such a goober that day. I would say in about half the pictures, Josh was this silly. Why can't guys take a "nice" picture?! At least it's perfect for this kind of picture.)

Zombie skin, ghoul eyes, and "softened"

My beautiful younger sister and her now-husband, Brandon.

Red vampire eyes and fangs

And Kitty.

Had to include Kitty.

Red vampire eyes and a mask

How fun is that?!

I was pretty conservative in the strength of most of the effects. There are a lot more wild edits like Frankenstein faces and blood stains.

I must warn you though. Once you start editing your family photos, it's hard to stop . . .
